About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Superintendent to join our team! This role provides on-site support, offering quality assurance oversight for various construction features including vertical construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installation, earthwork, aggregate processing, concrete placement, and testing. The position involves evaluating and analyzing construction-related records, executing directives from the Construction Manager, and reviewing daily construction activities. The Construction Superintendent will coordinate between the general contractor and subcontractors to prevent conflicts, maintain surveillance of labor performance, manpower allocation, and the effective use of tools and equipment. This role requires monitoring daily construction activities of the general contractor, subcontractors, and consultants, providing detailed technical reports with photos, taking corrective action for deficiencies, and identifying potential problems. Collaboration with the Construction Manager, Field Project Manager, and Design Manager is essential to ensure contract specifications and plans are implemented accurately and efficiently, complying with legal codes, regulatory requirements, and engineering/technical standards. The role also includes establishing and monitoring punch list and testing activities, and maintaining as-built information, periodically checking the general contractor's records for accuracy and clear documentation.

Requirements

BS or associate’s degree in construction management or related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience).
A minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent in industrial plant construction.
3 or more years of experience in reactive materials plant, in chemical plants, petroleum plants, pharmaceutical, semiconductor plants or datacenter construction for projects valued in excess of $50M+.
Relevant background in chemical, petroleum and/or pharmaceutical plants will also be favorably considered.
US Citizenship required.
Shall be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Broad knowledge and experience with MEP installation, earthwork, aggregate processing, concrete placement, and testing.
Experience reviewing Critical Path Management (CPM) schedules for multi-discipline construction projects.
Experience using Procore software to maintain and file construction documents.
Certification as a CCM with the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), and Certified Quality Manager (CQM) certification is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Providing quality assurance oversight specific to vertical construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installation, earthwork, aggregate processing, concrete placement, and testing.
Evaluating and analyzing records associated with construction activities.
Executing all orders and directives issued by the Construction Manager.
Reviewing daily construction activities and coordinating between the general contractor and subcontractors to avoid conflicts.
Maintaining surveillance of labor performance, manpower allocation, and effective use of tools and equipment.
Monitoring daily construction activities of the general contractor, sub-contractors, and consultants, providing detailed technical reports, photos, taking necessary action to correct deficiencies, and identifying areas of potential problems.
Working closely with Construction Manager, Field Project Manager and Design Manager to ensure contract specifications and plans are implemented accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal codes, regulatory requirements and meet engineering and technical standards.
Establishing and monitoring punch list and testing activities in compliance with the contractor documents.
Maintaining as-built information for Field Office.
Periodically checking the general contractor’s as-built information to confirm all information is being recorded with clear documentation.
Reviewing Critical Path Management (CPM) schedules for multi-discipline construction projects.
Monitoring progress and identifying potential schedule delays.
Responding to inquiries and resolving scheduling problems.
Developing and reviewing statements of work for accuracy and completeness, including field sketches, CAD drawings, supplemental specifications required to support SOWs and supplemental construction directives.
