About The Position

Maine Drilling & Blasting (MD&B) is seeking a Construction Superintendent Trainee (CST) to join their growing team. This is an entry-level leadership development position designed to introduce individuals to the drilling and blasting industry through an internal Leadership Development Program. The program aims to build skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary for future leadership roles within the company. CSTs will learn about safety and compliance, drilling operations in various environments, becoming a licensed Blaster, procurement and logistics, quality control, project profitability, budgets, standards, and project supervision. The role requires a willingness to travel within a multi-state area, perform manual labor including drilling and blasting, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. A dedicated mentor will be assigned, but the trainee is responsible for their own motivation and success in their Development Plan.

  • Willingness to perform manual labor, including laboring, drilling, and blasting.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and all weather conditions.
  • Engagement in a Development Plan with a dedicated mentor.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent College graduate with a degree in Construction, Engineering, Mining, or similar.
  • Recently separated from Military service.

Responsibilities

  • Learn safety and compliance related to drilling and blasting operations.
  • Understand all aspects of drilling in construction and quarry environments.
  • Develop skills and experience to become a State licensed Blaster.
  • Learn procurement and logistics for drilling and blasting activities.
  • Understand how QC efforts support project profitability.
  • Study project budgets and standards.
  • Gain experience in project supervision and leadership.
