About The Position

The Construction Superintendent III is a senior field leadership role responsible for the independent execution of Job Order Contracting (JOC) commercial construction projects, including renovation, repair, and improvement work in active, occupied facilities. This position serves as the primary onsite authority and is accountable for field safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and subcontractor performance. The Superintendent III partners closely with Project and Program Managers to ensure successful delivery of projects in accordance with contract requirements, company standards, and client expectations. Remote with travel expected throughout the U.S, but currently to sites in the mid-Atlantic and northeast.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience leading commercial construction field operations
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise subcontractors and manage work in active, occupied facilities
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents
  • Solid understanding of construction safety practices and hazard recognition
  • Ability to verify grades and elevations using laser equipment
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced field environments
  • Proficiency with construction or project management software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead and manage day-to-day field execution of assigned commercial construction projects
  • Serve as the primary onsite representative responsible for safety, quality, schedule adherence, and cost performance
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure proper staffing, sequencing, and productivity
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure accurate execution
  • Identify constructability issues, field conflicts, and scope changes and support timely resolution
  • Develop and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules and provide field input to project schedules
  • Track daily labor, equipment, material usage, and production to support accurate job cost reporting
  • Ensure completion of daily reports, field logs, photo documentation, and maintenance of as-built drawings
  • Enforce OSHA, site-specific, and company safety requirements and lead daily safety planning
