About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a Construction Specialist to ensure the execution of overhead/underground construction duties. This role involves placing hard-line Connectivity & Platforms, framing and stranding poles, transferring facilities, placing Connectivity & Platforms in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and trailers. The specialist will also be responsible for accurate record keeping of project start dates, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures. A key aspect of this role is instructing work site safety standards, conducting site visits to ensure compliance, and participating in safety meetings. The specialist will support the leadership team with project coordination, generate logs and reports, and review/resolve customer requests and complaints. Performance monitoring of the construction crew against goals and objectives is also a responsibility. This role requires regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, with the ability to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary. The specialist will coordinate and supervise daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff, set priorities for the team, assign tasks, and check work at regular intervals. Ensuring all work meets or exceeds Client, Local, State, or Federal standards and regulations is paramount. Primary responsibilities include updating JT or Polaris entries for path verification, acting as the primary contractor interface and NGAN liaison, ensuring new or upgraded power supply is in place and operational before the cut date, and maintaining overall responsibility for the quality of the NGAN product from contractor build to operations handoff. It is expected that this role will be in the field 90% of the time.

Requirements

Needs experience with aerial and underground fiber coax infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line Connectivity & Platforms, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, place Connectivity & Platforms in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and Connectivity & Platforms trailers.
Investigates and monitors accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer request and complaints.
Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function
Sets priorities for the team. Assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals
Responsible for ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds Client, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
Updating the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) QC for path verification
Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians
New or upgraded power supply in place and operational (in continuity) prior to cut date.
