About The Position

The Construction Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the execution of overhead/underground construction duties, including placing hard-line Connectivity & Platforms, framing and stranding poles, transferring facilities between poles, placing Connectivity & Platforms in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and Connectivity & Platforms trailers. This role involves investigating and monitoring accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures. The specialist will instruct work site safety standards, conduct work site visits to ensure compliance, and participate in regular safety meetings. They will support the leadership team with project coordination, generate logs and reports on construction, materials, and expenditures, and review/resolve customer requests and complaints. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the performance of the construction crew, coordinating and supervising daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff, and setting priorities for the team. A key responsibility is ensuring all work performed meets or exceeds client, Local, State, or Federal standards and regulations. Primary responsibilities include updating JT or Polaris entries for path verification, acting as the primary contractor interface and NGAN liaison, ensuring new or upgraded power supply is in place and operational, and holding overall responsibility for the quality of the NGAN product. This role is expected to be in the field 90% of the time.

Requirements

  • Coax experience required.
  • Fiber optic experience required.
  • Construction experience a must.
  • Basic computer experience a must to use Microsoft, Smartsheet’s, teams, P2 daily.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Will be completing construction quality audits in the field 80% of the time, 20% office pc work.
  • Wide range of inspections on nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures etc. but not limited to.
  • Some jobs could be 3-4 hours away - in these cases a hotel stay will be required that we will book.
  • 80% Field work and only in remote office to close out work and assign additional audits to be completed.
  • Maybe asked to join teams call or having direct communications with BPs.
  • Must be available from M-F 8a-5p via phone to help troubleshoot or clear jobs that were inspected.
  • Day to day – be responsible for assigned audits (could be one or multiple locations); no day will be the same; completing audits and documentation ; verify and review audit rework repairs and task are completed in a timely manner; there is some computer and Smartsheet work every day.
  • This role is pretty much an individual role; team is spread all around.
  • He is looking for Coax experience. Amplifies, Taps, main line cable.
  • A lot of candidates submitted previously only had fiber experience. They must have both for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Network Maintenance Technician experience a plus.
  • Reading design prints is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
  • Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
  • Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
  • Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer request and complaints.
  • Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function
  • Sets priorities for the team. Assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals
  • Responsible for ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds client, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
  • Updating the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) QC for path verification
  • Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians
  • New or upgraded power supply in place and operational (in continuity) prior to cut date.
  • Overall responsibility of the quality of the NGAN product: from the contractor building and to the Operations we hand off to
  • It is expected that this role is in the field 90% of their time.
