About The Position

We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated professional to fill the position of Construction Site Supervisor with Canam. This role requires travelling throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of USA. As a member of our team, your responsibilities include coordinating with various stakeholders such as plant coordinators, steel erectors, project managers, and the detailing/engineering department. You will attend field meetings, manage erection drawings, follow up on deliveries, and ensure reception of materials. A key part of this role involves daily site reporting, assisting with repair requests, performing visual quality control, and supporting health and safety coordinators. You will also attend on and off-site meetings, update site progress, monitor schedules, manage on-site record-keeping, and communicate with various stakeholders and the general contractor.

Requirements

  • Construction trade journeyman certificate or diploma.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of construction site supervision experience.
  • Ability to read structural shop drawings, layouts and erection drawings is a must.
  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • An autonomous results-oriented aptitude, with the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction schedules and Gantt charts.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in computer system and software (Google Workspace).
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective supervision and management techniques to maximize sub-trade performance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with plant coordinators (steel delivery, steel deck, joists, hardware), steel erectors (daily requests), and project managers.
  • Attend field meeting with other trades and summarize to the project manager.
  • Coordinate with the detailing/engineering department – field works, revision of drawings, clarifications (missing details).
  • Accept erection drawings (follow-up on acceptance dates).
  • Follow-up with transportation for deliveries issues.
  • Reception of materials and hardware (validate all delivery slips).
  • Daily site report (daily log – plan grid).
  • Assist the steel erector in repair requests (field work and deficiencies).
  • Quality control, visual only.
  • Assist health and safety coordinators.
  • Attend and participate in, on and off-site meetings; including, but not limited to, health and safety meetings.
  • Update daily site progress in Smartsheet.
  • Monitor schedules and update on a daily basis.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders and the general contractor.
  • Manage on-site record-keeping, including but not limited to, daily site specific hazard assessments.
