About The Position

Harvest Solar, a Michigan-based company specializing in cost-effective renewable energy solutions, is seeking a Construction Site Superintendent. This role is crucial for coordinating and managing all onsite activities. The Superintendent will collaborate with project teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, Foreman, Field Personnel, and other office departments, to ensure successful project delivery, meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and maintaining the desired quality standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • 3-5 years of construction experience
  • 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory role
  • Proficient in scheduling and training with a good knowledge of company policies and personnel capabilities
  • Maintain customer service, delivery, and satisfaction at a consistently high level.
  • Maintain Field crew morale, productivity, cooperation, and teamwork at high levels.
  • Effective judgment in reporting and timely resolutions of problems.
  • Ability to preserve company confidentiality and reputation.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and cooperative working relationships with all employees.
  • Ability to perform all duties in an independent and expeditious manner with minimal supervision and demonstrate good planning skills.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to tolerate the physical demands for a minimum of 10 to 12 hours daily.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
  • Ability to obtain CDL certification
  • MIOSHA Certification, i.e., OSHA 30, etc. (will supply training)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, health, and safety laws and ordinances, including ASHE, OSHA, MIOSHA, MDH, and DOT.
  • Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule.
  • Work with project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel, as well as manage labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
  • Prepare work plans and develop any additional temporary facilities for the project.
  • Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturers' data, and execute the project based on this documentation.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Manage the overall project and 3-week look-ahead schedules, including creating the master schedule and updating it weekly.
  • Generate RFIs (Request for Information) as required to ensure completeness of project documents, identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
  • Manage the company's quality control program within the assigned project.
  • Conduct preconstruction planning.
  • Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel.
  • Manage and supervise work crews onsite, including mentoring and training field personnel, managing foremen and their duties, ensuring they have resources and information, and providing effective performance evaluations.
  • Provide feedback on processes and procedures to support continuous development.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
