About The Position

HDR is seeking a Construction Services Project Manager to join its Water Business Group team in Asheville, North Carolina. The role requires a technical background in water and wastewater treatment plant, pump station, and pipeline construction. The Project Manager will perform constructability reviews of project designs and lead projects during construction administration. Project types may include water and wastewater treatment plants, water transmission pipelines, water pump stations, wastewater collection systems, wastewater pump stations, and related infrastructure.

The position involves coordinating and managing construction administration services as a consulting engineer, working with contractors, sub-consultants, utility owners, and the design and construction teams. The Project Manager coordinates technical specifications and design drawings, performs office and field services during construction, directs construction administration staff, and carries out client management activities in support of HDR’s North Carolina Area-based Water/Wastewater team. The position is subject to a preemployment drug test.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including field engineering, construction submittals, estimating, scheduling, and site safety.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, or Bluebeam.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain one in North Carolina within 6 months; preferred but not required.
• Experience in construction and/or design.
• Experience with water/wastewater projects primarily focused on treatment plants, pump stations, and pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform constructability reviews of project designs.
• Lead projects during the construction administration phase.
