About The Position

Join a contractor supporting a major building expansion at an active plastics manufacturing facility in Heath, OH. This long-term opportunity provides hands-on construction safety leadership while multiple trades complete expansion and facility construction activities within an active industrial environment. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while partnering with project leadership, contractors, and craft personnel to identify hazards, maintain OSHA compliance, and safely coordinate construction activities around ongoing manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Facility Construction
  • Working knowledge of Building Expansion & Renovation Activities
  • Working knowledge of Multi-Trade Construction Operations
  • Working knowledge of Contractor & Subcontractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Equipment Safety
  • Working knowledge of Hot Work Safety
  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Awareness
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

  • Multi-trade contractor safety oversight experience
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for building expansion and construction operations
  • Maintain a strong field presence alongside contractors and project supervision
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments
  • Monitor multiple construction trades and subcontractor activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
  • Support safe coordination between construction activities and ongoing manufacturing operations
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Monitor fall protection, elevated work, material handling, and equipment operations
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, inspections, and compliance records
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project
