About The Position

The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for an on-site roofing contractor in Port Washington, WI, for an 8-month duration starting April 27th. This is a 1099 Contractor role with a weekly pay schedule, offering $56/hr, a $125/day per diem for seven days, and a $150/month completion bonus. The role involves overseeing a crew of 50 installing roofing membrane and sheet metal, ensuring site safety guidelines and protocols are enforced, and contributing to the shaping of the safety program.

Requirements

• BCSP- CHST or CSP certification
• Excellent public speaking and communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
• Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction
• Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and regulations

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety for the on-site roofing contractor
• Oversight of a crew of 50 installing roofing membrane and sheet metal
• Signing off on scaffolding each morning
• Filling out PTPs
• Enforcing site safety guidelines and protocols
• Keeping crew working safely
• Attending weekly safety meetings
• Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations
• Monitor OSHA compliance
• Upload documentation into Procore
• Daily safety reports
• Track workforce safety compliance
• Maintain safety logs and compliance records
• Fall protection enforcement (CRITICAL priority)
• Provide safety training as needed
• Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety protocols
• Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence
• Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required
• Help shape the safety program
