About The Position

Join an electrical contractor supporting a substation construction project in Paducah, TX. Project scope includes electrical distribution systems, electrical transmission infrastructure, substation equipment installation, utility construction, and energized electrical work activities. The Construction Safety Manager will provide daily field safety oversight for utility construction crews, electricians, subcontractors, and supervision while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements.

Requirements

BCSP Credential Required (CHST Minimum)
Minimum 5+ Years of Field Construction Safety Experience
Electrical Construction Safety Experience Required
Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
Working knowledge of Electrical Construction Safety
Working knowledge of Substation Construction Activities
Working knowledge of Electrical Distribution Systems
Working knowledge of Electrical Transmission Infrastructure
Working knowledge of NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Practices
Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Working knowledge of Energized Work Planning
Working knowledge of Utility Construction Safety
Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

Responsibilities

Provide daily field safety oversight for substation construction activities
Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
Monitor electrical installation, utility construction, material handling, and equipment operations
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
