About The Position

Join a utility and concrete contractor supporting Phase 2 of a major data center construction project in Sandusky, OH. This opportunity provides hands-on safety oversight for critical site development operations including underground utility installation, concrete construction, excavation activities, grading operations, site preparation, and heavy civil construction work. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with craft personnel, equipment operators, subcontractors, supervision, and project leadership to identify hazards, maintain compliance, and support the safe execution of utility and concrete construction activities within a fast-paced mission-critical construction environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 Years of Construction Safety Experience
  • Data Center Construction Experience or Large Commercial Building Construction Experience Required
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or Related Field OR BCSP Credential (ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, or STSC)
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Current CPR / First Aid / AED Certification (Within Past 2 Years)
  • Candidates should have working knowledge of: OSHA Construction Standards, Data Center Construction Safety, Heavy Civil Construction Operations, Utility Installation and Underground Infrastructure Work, Concrete Construction Activities, Excavation & Trenching Safety Requirements, Soil Classification and Protective Systems, Heavy Equipment Operations, Material Handling Operations, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions, Contractor Safety Management, Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for utility and concrete construction operations
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor excavation activities, underground utility installation, concrete placement, grading operations, and heavy equipment activities
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, subcontractors, and contractors
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project

Benefits

  • Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)
  • Completion Bonus: $150/month
