About The Position

Veolia is Ireland’s leading environmental services company, providing energy, waste, and water solutions with a focus on carbon reduction, environmental protection, and the circular economy. The Construction Risk & Assurance Advisor will actively support the business by conducting site visits, ensuring adherence to standards, and performing audits to monitor progress against improvement plans, Veolia’s Minimum Requirements, and client expectations. This role involves developing strong relationships with operational teams to identify improvements and practical solutions, collaborating with the wider Ireland Risk & Assurance team, and liaising with external stakeholders, regulators, and customers.

Requirements

UCD / NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent) (Essential)
2-3 years experience in a similar role
Motivated to drive improvements within the business to achieve a pro-active culture.
Risk Management

Project Management Skills
Experience in delivering change/improvement programmes
Ability to influence with change management skills
Operational Experience
If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.
If you are a non-EU/EEA national , you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular formal site audits & engagement visits as directed in the Safety Management system / as per Veolia’s Minimum Requirements (VMR) on Veolia sites / contracts
Assist or carry out accident / incident investigations in a timely manner
Monitor compliance with and provide technical support and advice to site teams to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental legislation and Veolia’s Minimum Requirements; take corrective action as necessary.
Collaborate with and support the wider UK & Ireland Risk & Assurance team to ensure R&A team and department project objectives are fulfilled.
Support site & R&A teams with ISO 45001 audits
Support the use, roll out and development of Veolia management systems and processes across all sites
Support the timely and accurate production of statistics / data for team and other business reports
Liaise with external regulators and clients as necessary
Comply with Veolia R&A reporting and administrative requirements
Attend and contribute to Ireland Risk & Assurance and other management meetings and briefings as required.
Support and liaise with management teams across the Ireland business, attending management meetings where required
Track progress and visits against the construction project planner
Attend internal / customer meetings and industry / sector meetings where required.
Promote good practice across the team and recommend improvements to the standards i.e. VMR
