About The Position

CDM Smith is looking for a Construction Representative to support project teams by monitoring construction activities, evaluating structural conditions, and verifying that work aligns with design specifications and project requirements. This role documents field observations, identifies potential deficiencies, and communicates findings to project leadership to help maintain quality, compliance, and successful project delivery.

Requirements

Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer, smartphone or related applications and programs.
Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.
Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications.
Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.
High School diploma or Vocational Technical degree or equivalent.
0 years of experience.
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

Conduct construction inspections of basic complexity under the guidance of experienced team members.
Assess structural conditions and evaluate the quality and integrity of construction work.
Document structural deterioration, construction conditions, and sampling requirements as needed.
Identify and document discrepancies between design specifications and completed construction.
Communicate observed deficiencies, quality concerns, and construction issues to project leadership through clear and timely reporting.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support project delivery and construction quality assurance.
