About The Position

SERVPRO of Adamstown / York City is seeking an experienced, well-rounded Construction Repair Technician to join their growing reconstruction and restoration team. This is a full-time position that offers variety, as the role involves completing reconstruction and repair projects, and also assisting the mitigation division when skilled trade work is needed. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently complete quality work on smaller repair projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in additional trades such as tile, cabinetry, light plumbing, light electrical, framing, or finish carpentry is required.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements and material takeoffs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot construction problems in the field.
  • Comfortable working independently or alongside a larger crew.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and project managers.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to lift construction materials and perform physically demanding work.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of residential or commercial construction/remodeling experience.
  • Strong drywall finishing and repair skills.
  • Interior painting experience.
  • Finish carpentry and trim experience.
  • Flooring installation experience.
  • Experience in restoration or insurance reconstruction is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Completing reconstruction and repair projects, including drywall installation, patching, finishing, and repairs; interior painting and touch-up work; baseboard, casing, and other finish trim installation; door and hardware installation; LVP, laminate, and other flooring installation and repairs; minor framing and carpentry; cabinetry and countertop detach/reset or installation; punch-list and warranty repairs; and small residential and commercial reconstruction projects.
  • Assisting mitigation crews when skilled construction experience is needed, which may include emergency repairs and temporary stabilization, board-ups and securing damaged structures, controlled demolition and material removal, detaching building materials or fixtures to facilitate mitigation, minor framing or structural repairs, assisting with specialty construction-related tasks following water, fire, mold, or storm damage, and helping teams move projects forward efficiently.
  • Performing other general construction repairs as needed.
