About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Construction Quality Control / Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Tukwila, Washington. This role offers a career growth opportunity in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a prominent US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services for civil and commercial construction, with a broad service offering including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant construction inspection, quality assurance and quality control experience on transportation/heavy civil projects.
  • ACI and ICC Certifications.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.
  • Basic Math, Calculator, and Computer Skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
  • Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to kneel, squat and climb occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more of the following certifications: ICC, ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC, and/or CWI.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct jobsite inspections and materials testing throughout the SeaTac Area.
  • Perform a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision.
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Maintain and calibrate standard equipment.
  • Make detailed observations and provide interpretation of results.
  • Train/supervise and perform complex assignments and work tasks.
  • Attend project meetings alone without supervision.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
