About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to serve as the Owners Representative Construction Manager for secondment on ATB Financial's major construction programme. In this role, you will be seconded into a dynamic real estate and facilities environment, reporting to the Senior Manager, Construction. You will play a critical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of capital projects—ranging from renovations and refreshes to new builds—ensuring they are executed with technical excellence, safety, and fiscal discipline. This position is central to bringing physical spaces to life. You will lead construction delivery across the full lifecycle—from pre-construction planning and tendering through to deficiencies, commissioning, and turnover—working closely with Project Delivery and Design teams to ensure alignment with governance, stakeholder expectations, and overall program objectives. Leveraging Turner & Townsend’s global expertise and best practices, you will provide strong technical leadership, oversee contractors and vendors, and uphold rigorous standards in quality, safety, and financial management to deliver high-performing, future-ready environments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Construction Management, ideally with direct Owner’s Representative or client-side experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of CCDC contracts and construction practices
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Comfortable using Google Suite or similar platforms
  • Proven ability to manage external partners and collaborate within complex, regulated environments

Nice To Haves

  • P.Eng, CET, or Architectural Technologist designation is an asset
  • experience with IWMS systems is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead project execution from tender to turnover, ensuring construction aligns with approved designs, specifications, and client standards. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and progress.
  • Review and validate progress draws, change orders, and site instructions. Proactively identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes.
  • Manage General Contractors, consultants, and vendors, holding all parties accountable to schedule, quality, and safety expectations under CCDC contracts and MSAs.
  • Undertake detailed drawing reviews and constructability assessments to mitigate risk, reduce rework, and ensure design feasibility prior to tender.
  • Partner with Project Delivery and Design leads throughout all phases to ensure alignment with project objectives, governance, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure site safety standards are met and maintained in accordance with OH&S regulations and project requirements through effective contractor oversight.
  • Manage close-out deliverables including as-builts, O&M manuals, occupancy permits, and transition to operations and facilities teams.
  • Contribute to the evolution of construction processes, standards, and best practices to enhance delivery efficiency and overall project outcomes.
