About The Position

RQ Construction is looking for a Construction Project Manager (PM) to join our Field Operations team for work in Norfolk, Virginia (on an active military base). PM's are responsible for leading all aspects and phases of a project from conceptual design to final completion in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Local candidates will be considered, though relocation or travel to provide on-site project management is required for the PM position. This military base requires that all employees be U.S. Citizens. Founded in 1996, RQC, LLC is a full-service Design-Build firm headquartered in Carlsbad, California, specializing in accelerated, ground-up commercial construction with a primary emphasis on Department of Defense work. We deliver projects from $30 million to over $300 million across the United States and U.S. territories, including California, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience and training.
  • Two (2) or more years' experience or equivalent in commercial project management.
  • Six (6) or more years or equivalent work experience as a Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager (or equivalent) in the construction industry.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office - esp. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications required. Training can be provided.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in the design-build industry.
  • Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit).
  • STS certification.
  • LEED GA Credential or AP/AP+.
