About The Position

This is a full-time, 1st shift position for a Construction Project Manager located at Trinity Hospital in Chicago, IL. The role involves administering construction projects, ensuring they are built according to specifications, and maintaining project documentation. The Construction Project Manager will also be responsible for project planning, coordinating contractor meetings, inspecting work progress, and interfacing with various stakeholders including contractors, engineers, architects, and hospital personnel. A key responsibility includes the stewardship of Construction Documents and the preparation of Safety Documents, including life-safety ILSM project documents, fire evacuation plans, and IDPH comments, ensuring all final construction/permit documents are archived.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (or related major)
  • 2 or more years prior experience in project management with majority of experience in hospital or health care field
  • Basic skills in computer word processing, scheduling, and accounting spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the bid review process; analyses quotations and proposals
  • Reviews submittals for accuracy and conformity to LGH specifications
  • Insures that projects are built according to specifications
  • Administers construction projects and maintains project documentation
  • Assists in the preparation of initial budget estimates for approval
  • Reviews bids and assists in the selection of appropriate contractors
  • Prepares change orders for approval
  • Reviews and process pay requests
  • Maintains and updates project budget trackers sheets
  • Responsible for coordination and supervision of all aspects of construction process
  • Coordinates contractor meetings on both a regular or as needed basis
  • Inspects progress of contractor work as related to project schedule
  • Fields questions and interfaces between contractors, engineers, contract architects and staff architect, and consultants
  • Coordinates construction activities (such as shutdowns) that directly affect hospital operations
  • Updates appropriate hospital personnel regarding construction activities.
  • Responsible for project planning
  • Attends planning meetings with user groups, insuring that the design meets their needs and works within budget
  • Interfaces with contract architects and staff architect, designers, engineers, and consultants to insure that construction documents conform both to the design intent and to established Advocate Health Care locations.
  • Responsible for stewardship of Construction Documents and preparation of Safety Documents on Advocate's behalf
  • Preparation and updating of life-safety ILSM project documents, coordination and review of fire evacuation, IDPH comments, Accrediting Organization comments.
  • Archiving and ensuring access to all project final construction/permit documents.
