About The Position

RQ Construction is seeking a Construction Project Manager (PM) to join their Field Operations team for work in Norfolk, Virginia, specifically on an active military base. The PM will be responsible for overseeing all project phases, from initial design to final completion, aligning with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. While local candidates are considered, relocation or travel to the job site for on-site project management is mandatory. This role requires U.S. Citizenship due to the military base environment. RQ Construction, founded in 1996 and headquartered in Carlsbad, California, is a full-service Design-Build firm specializing in accelerated, ground-up commercial construction, with a significant focus on Department of Defense projects. Requirements

  • A BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience and training.
  • Two (2) or more years' experience or equivalent in commercial project management.
  • Six (6) or more years or equivalent work experience as a Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager (or equivalent) in the construction industry.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office - esp. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications required (training can be provided).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in the design-build industry.
  • Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit).
  • STS certification.
  • LEED GA Credential or AP/AP+.

Responsibilities

  • Leading all aspects and phases of a project from conceptual design to final completion.
