About The Position

Underwater Mechanix Services (UMX) is seeking a Construction Project Manager for challenging federal marine and heavy civil projects. This role requires a leader who can manage execution from start to finish, solve problems in real-time, and maintain operations in demanding federal environments. The ideal candidate understands field operations, communicates directly, and is detail-oriented, taking pride in delivering projects safely, professionally, and profitably. This position is not desk-bound and involves direct engagement with field operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of federal construction project management experience
• USACE and/or NAVFAC experience REQUIRED
• Marine or heavy civil experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of contracts, scheduling, and project controls
• Experience using Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar systems
• Ability to lead teams and make decisions in fast-moving project environments
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Someone who takes ownership and holds a high standard of execution

Responsibilities

• Lead federal marine and heavy civil projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Create and manage schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Coordinate field operations and maintain accountability across teams
• Manage UMX teams and subcontractors on your projects
• Identify problems early and drive solutions before they impact production
• Maintain compliance with USACE, NAVFAC, and EM 385-1-1 requirements
• Drive project performance while maintaining strong safety and quality standards
• Work closely with leadership, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects moving
