About The Position

Decima International is a professional services company providing project management and controls services. We are seeking a driven and capable Construction Project Manager to support the development of multiple data center projects for a major technology client. This client-facing role demands strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, the ability to self-direct, represent the client effectively, and adhere to strong project management fundamentals. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects concurrently across different regions and possesses a strong background in data center development, design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements. This role involves mentoring staff, building long-term client relationships, and contributing to business development efforts, including strategy, positioning, proposals, and contract negotiation. Requirements

  • 10+ years of construction and project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, project management, or related technical field
  • Excellent understanding of construction, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, building systems/components, and technology
  • Experience in developing various types of reports for different audiences
  • Experience in client-facing positions
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction programs and communicate progress to both technical and management-level personnel
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with any audience clearly and accurately
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Current work permit required

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with clients and communicate effectively with both technical and management personnel.
  • Manage assigned work from initiation to completion, overseeing all aspects of delivery to ensure timely and effective execution.
  • Prepare and present PowerPoint presentations to management regarding project progress, findings, and recommendations.
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
  • Prepare RFPs and support the contractor selection and contract award process.
  • Collaborate with contractors to establish CPM baseline schedules.
  • Perform resource analyses to identify potential bottlenecks and resource constraints.
  • Identify project risks, gaps, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to stakeholders for mitigation and advantage.
  • Facilitate, lead, and chair project meetings (including OAC meetings), maintaining accurate minutes and action items.
  • Review and validate project progress, contractor pay applications, and invoices.
  • Conduct financial and technical appraisals of project options.
  • Perform feasibility studies, site surveys, and liaise with designers, engineers, superintendents, and construction managers.
  • Support business development efforts through strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
