ZAP EngineeringLakewood, CO
$124,800 - $150,800Hybrid

About The Position

ZAP Engineering & Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Project Manager for their Mechanical Construction division, focusing on Oil & Gas projects. This role is based out of the Lakewood, CO office but requires up to 50% travel to project sites across North America. ZAP is a full-service engineering, design, and construction management firm that self-performs work, offering a fast-paced, team-centric environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing field operations, including superintendents and craft labor, negotiating subcontracts, managing project budgets, and being accountable to clients for safety, schedule, and cost. The Construction Project Manager will own the delivery of self-perform projects from start to finish, managing the field execution, budget, subcontracts, construction schedule, and client relationships for the construction scope. This includes mechanical construction activities such as underground piping, equipment setting, structural steel, in-rack piping, pressure testing, and system reinstatement. For integrated projects, coordination with the EPC Project Manager and ZAP engineering is essential for a seamless design-to-construction handoff.

  • 7+ years of construction experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial, including mechanical/piping construction.
  • 3+ years managing construction projects with responsibility for field execution, schedule, and cost/P&L.
  • Demonstrated experience directing superintendents, foremen, and craft labor, and managing subcontractors.
  • Experience in subcontract negotiation and administration, change orders, billing, and earned value.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling (P6 or MS Project) and MS Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASME B&PV) and field QA/QC processes.
  • Valid, active driver's license and a good driving record.
