About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager for their Program Management team, specifically supporting Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL. This role is crucial for overseeing multiple construction projects, ensuring successful completion within budget and schedule. The position involves coordinating with other Project Managers, designers, and end-users, and managing all project phases from pre-construction through close-out. The Construction Project Manager will review documents, coordinate with public agencies, manage project budgets and schedules, negotiate change orders, process contractor payments, administer professional service agreements, and coordinate the delivery of fixtures, furniture, and equipment. A key responsibility includes monitoring project close-out, including certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and financial close-out.

Requirements

BA/BS + 4 years of relevant construction experience or AA/AS + 6 years of relevant construction experience or HS/GED + 8 years of relevant construction experience
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background checks.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or construction management or similar discipline.
Commercial and/or Public/Educational Facility Construction with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values in excess of $30M
Knowledge of Florida DOE regulations and experience in the implementation of Florida Statutes and State Requirements for Educational Facilities with regards to the planning, design and construction of higher education facilities.

Responsibilities

Manages, oversees and coordinates all facets of the pre-construction, bid and award, construction and close-out phase of all assigned projects
Reviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to Designer as necessary
Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to upper management with respect to the status and/or progress of the projects
Coordinates with all pertinent public agencies during pre-construction and construction to comply with all off-site work
Coordinates with various District and Project staff
Manages project budget and schedule to meet client standards
Monitors the project budget on a monthly basis and ensures that the budget accurately reflects the project status/progress
Receives, reviews, and negotiates Contractor Change Order Proposal(s) to achieve a fair & reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions
Reviews and addresses any and all Schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner
Reviews the process and monitors payments for the contractor, architects, engineers and any other pertinent parties
Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the client
Coordinates District delivery of related fixtures, furniture and equipment
Monitors project close-out with respect to project certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and project financial close out
Perform other related duties as assigned
