We are seeking a Construction Superintendent for our client, OGS (Office of General Services for NYS). Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience as an assistant project manager responsible for large-scale projects values over $5M.
  • Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documentation.
  • Ability to manage various projects using established controls/procedures.
  • Provide jobsite leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the design team on critical issues pertinent to the project and/or client.
  • Full working knowledge of cost and change management as well as claims mitigation.
  • OSHA 30
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Engineer-In-Charge (EIC) working out of the field office in Dannemora NY.
  • Manage 4-5 construction projects for various clients including but not limited to - DOCCS, DEC, DOT, and DMNA.
  • Provide direct oversight/management of onsite construction activities.
  • Act as a liaison between design, construction, client and regulating authority stakeholders.
  • Review schedules, coordinate work of separate contracts, review and monitor RFI’s & design changes, coordinate work with facility operations, and conduct job meetings.
  • Prepare/distribute meeting minutes, prepare orders on contract, report and resolve field delays/performance issues, review contractor payments, review closeout documents, and maintain records on submittmits, approvals, field/change orders and allowances.
  • Ensure suppliers and subcontractors are approved in accordance with the contract documents/procedures.
  • Review workmanship and material installations, witness tests, perform contract interpretation during negotiation and problem resolution, conduct detailed /final inspections, maintain daily inspection reports, receive and distribute turnover items, review as-built drawings, track/reconcile unit price work quantities, and time and material records.
  • Deploy field inspection team, observe their work, and mentor and evaluate.
  • Review project team inspection reports for accuracy and completeness in accordance with policies and procedures.
