About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking a Construction Project Manager to manage specific aspects of projects as assigned by the project manager or leader, such as technical, construction, quality, cost, and schedule. This role supports the development and management of specific portions of the project budget and schedule, ensuring alignment with project scope and objectives. The Construction Project Manager will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project deliverables. Responsibilities include supporting the development, execution, and commissioning of the project, adhering to safety standards, managing system turnover packages, system walkdowns, punch lists, coordinating with operations, and handling system documentation. The role also involves providing regular project status reports, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to the success of significant complex projects which may include new generation plants, retrofits, environmental initiatives, and other large-scale endeavors. The position also requires carrying out additional tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • Construction Project Manager I: 0-2 years experience in leading and managing complex projects, or managing multi-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Construction Project Manager II: 3+ years experience in leading and managing complex projects, or managing multi-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Construction Project Manager III: 5+ years experience in leading and managing complex projects, or managing multi-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Solid knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, tools and best practices, and applies them to solve project problems and issues.
  • Skills in leading, motivating, and coaching project teams and stakeholders, and in managing changes, risks, and uncertainties.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences, using appropriate verbal, written, and visual techniques.
  • Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close complex projects within time, cost, and quality constraints, using project management tools and software.
  • Ability to create and sustain a positive project culture, adapt to changing project requirements and environments, and implement lessons learned and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution, and energy markets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • EIT, PE, PMP, PMI-CP certifications.
