About The Position

AECOM is seeking a General Superintendent and/or Construction Manager for a Healthcare Facility project in Brooklyn, NY. This role requires on-site presence and involves overseeing the delivery of various scope projects within an active hospital, including building construction, reconstruction, renovation, MEP upgrades, and sitework. The successful candidate will manage projects through their lifecycles, coordinating with clients, design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring high quality and efficient project delivery. This includes managing concurrent construction contracts and project closeouts.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with general contractor contracts in NY City.
  • Experience in active healthcare Facilities.
  • Superintendent or Construction Manager with 8-10 years’ experience managing new construction, reconstruction, and renovation of various building types and MEP upgrades.
  • Coordination with several on-going concurrent projects within the same construction footprint.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and project tracking systems such as Procore or Primavera P6.

Nice To Haves

  • NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Construction Superintendent License preferred.
  • SST Supervisor Certification preferred.
  • NY Registration as a Professional Engineer, or Registered Architect, considered highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Providing oversight and direction to enable projects to be completed on time and on budget.
  • Serving as a liaison for those managing design, contractor, commissioning, and end users to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Assisting in the sequencing and coordination of projects, including with hospital facility staff.
  • Utilizing various platforms and software for efficient client review and approval pathways.
  • Reviewing plans and documents and providing feedback to various entities.
  • Researching best practices to progress project delivery.
  • Contact with consultants, engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and representatives of Health + Hospitals, various City departments, civic, community, and governmental organizations.
