About The Position

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead facility construction, facility renovation, and capital improvement projects across our healthcare system. This is a hands-on role focused on managing projects within active healthcare environments, requiring a strong on-site presence to oversee construction activities, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing construction, renovation, facility modernization, or capital improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.
  • Ability to effectively oversee projects in the field and maintain a visible on-site presence throughout construction.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing projects within occupied buildings or complex operating environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four (4) Years of Project Management experience
  • PMI (PMP) Certification within 12 - 24 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare construction or healthcare facilities experience is highly desirable.
  • Five (5) years of healthcare experience
  • Three (3) years Construction and/or Facilities Management experience
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects across UHS locations.
  • Maintain a regular on-site presence to monitor construction progress, conduct walkthroughs, address issues, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage all phases of projects, including planning, design, budgeting, construction, and occupancy.
  • Develop and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with safety regulations, building codes, healthcare requirements, and UHS standards.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, delays, and budget impacts.
  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle from scope definition through execution, delivery, and transition to operations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and define clear, achievable project deliverables.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify risks/issues, and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget through structured change control processes.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and key updates to leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Conduct on-site engagement with hospital departments to identify risks early and ensure minimal disruption to patient care.
  • Coordinate department relocations related to construction or renovation projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for scope, cost, and timeline changes.
  • Ensure successful project closure, including handoff to operations and stakeholder acceptance.
