About The Position

BodySpec is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee retail clinic buildouts end-to-end. This role involves managing general contractors (GCs), schedules, budgets, permits, and ensuring smooth opening days. The Construction Project Manager will work directly with senior leadership on expansion plans, making decisions quickly to scale the company. BodySpec is the country's largest DEXA operator with a mission to end osteoporosis in America and is experiencing rapid growth.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Construction Project Manager, with 2–3 multi-site retail, healthcare, or restaurant buildouts you’ve personally driven from kickoff to opening
  • GC or assistant-GC background — you’ve been on the contractor side, not just the owner’s-rep side
  • Fluent in the language and timelines of MEP, framing, finishes, permits, and inspections
  • Based in Austin and able to travel to active build sites as needed
  • Comfortable working with leadership in real time — daily updates and quick decisions, not weekly status reports
  • Ability to thrive with direct, unfiltered feedback — we’ll tell you exactly what you need to improve

Responsibilities

  • Own clinic buildouts end-to-end, from kickoff to opening day — schedule, budget, scope, GC selection, vendor management
  • Manage GCs and MEP subs across multiple active builds, holding everyone accountable to dates and dollars
  • Coordinate with architects on drawing sets, RFIs, and design changes — keep design decisions from stalling construction
  • Drive permits, inspections, and landlord coordination — chase down the unsexy stuff so projects don’t stall
  • Travel to active build sites as needed to walk the work, meet with GCs in person, and verify progress with your own eyes
  • Hand off finished builds to our operations team — coordinate signage, equipment install, IT, and opening prep so day-one runs smoothly
  • Report status, blockers, and burn to leadership in real time so we never get surprised
