About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Owns execution of construction projects ($5M–$25M) from handoff after bid award through closeout, including subcontract development, subcontractor onboarding, and full project administration. Manages overall project financial performance, overseeing budgets, cost controls, forecasting, backcharges, and change orders to ensure projects are delivered at or near budget. Leads field and resource coordination, working closely with Superintendents, and colleagues to plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and sequencing of work. Track progress, communicate status, and resolve issues to keep projects moving forward Serves as the primary point of contact with PennDOT, maintaining daily interaction with owners and inspectors, submitting and updating progress schedules, negotiating change orders and time extensions, and resolving scope discrepancies. Balances office and field leadership (≈50/50) to ensure work aligns with contract requirements, proactively identify scope gaps or risks, and prevent unapproved or uncompensated work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing heavy highway projects is required.
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct engineering experience is preferred.
