About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Senior Data Center Construction Manager nationally. This position is located in Las Vegas, NV. The role involves leading day-to-day activities on hyperscale data center projects, encompassing pre-construction, design, construction phasing, closeout coordination, commissioning, facility start-up and testing, occupancy, and warranty enforcement. The position requires working with the Program Director to develop and execute project delivery strategies aligned with schedule, budget, and operational requirements. The Senior Construction Manager will act as the primary construction interface with the client, organizing and coordinating construction activities with the client, client vendors, and other stakeholders. A key responsibility is ensuring all construction work is performed efficiently and meets established cost and schedule requirements. This includes understanding scheduling, critical milestone activities, schedule logic, and basic construction means and methods. The role involves planning and organizing reports, reviewing documentation from multiple project teams, and potentially providing technical direction. The Senior Construction Manager will administer client policies, maintain close interfaces with the project team, and ensure all project facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget, schedule, and quality. Coordination with General Contractors and EPC Contractors is essential, including ensuring the scheduling of all tests and inspections and archiving reports. The role also involves reviewing and verifying punch list items, monitoring construction progress, processing field construction documentation, and providing engineering support. Coordination with operations, network infrastructure, and commissioning teams for successful facility turnover is required, as is attending site-based meetings and coordinating project documentation with Project Controls. Reviewing and approving Pay Applications, and reviewing/documenting the condition of off-site stored materials are also part of the responsibilities. Promoting a zero-incident safety culture and building strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and local authorities are critical aspects of this role.

Requirements

BA/BS + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 2 years of leadership
Motor Vehicle Report will be required for this position

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field
Fifteen years in Construction.
PMP, CCM, PE or equivalent professional certifications
Experience delivering hyperscale data center campuses
Experience overseeing commissioning, startup and operational readiness programs.
Demonstrated experience as an Owner’s Representative, Construction Manager, General Contractor, or Program Manager

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day activities on hyperscale data center project including but not limited to, pre-construction, design, construction phasing, closeout coordination, commissioning, facility start-up and testing, occupancy and warranty enforcement.
Work with Program Director to develop and execute project delivery strategies aligned with schedule, budget and operational requirements.
Act as the primary construction interface with the client.
Organizes and coordinates construction activities with the client and client vendors, as well as other stakeholders as needed.
Ensure all construction work performed on-site is put into place in an efficient manner such that it meets established cost and schedule requirements.
Understands and has working knowledge of scheduling and critical milestone activities, understands logic of the schedule and basic construction means and methods.
Plans and organizes reports, reviews documentation from multiple project teams working on projects assigned.
May provide technical direction and guidance to others as needed, administers client policies, maintains close interface with project team, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, schedule and quality.
Coordinate with General Contractors and EPC Contractors and ensure scheduling of all tests and inspections required by the Contract Documents or governmental authorities and ensure that all test and inspection reports are archived in the project PMIS.
Review punch list submitted by others and verify that items on the punch list have been completed and corrected prior to recommending substantial completion to the Client.
Monitor construction work progress, process field construction documentation (RFI and submittal validation and logging), also provide engineering support and coordination of construction field activities with contractors, inspectors and AECOM staff.
Coordinate with operations, network infrastructure, and commissioning teams to support successful facility turnover.
Coordinate with the general contractor on required meetings and attend all site-based meetings.
Coordinate project documentation with Project Controls (cost and schedule) reviewers.
Review, provide comments and fully approve Pay Applications.
Review and document condition of any off-site stored materials including gathering all the necessary insurances and bill of sales for Owner supporting pay application review and approval on behalf of the Owner.
Promote a zero-incident safety culture across all project activities
Build and maintain strong relationships with client leadership, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
