About The Position

This role is responsible for planning and executing office space refreshes, build-to-suit projects, new facility construction, renovations, and strategic planning of office spaces across the globe. You will support all SpaceX sites without local facilities teams, lead global office opening projects, and work with architects, designers, facilities and maintenance teams, vendors, real estate partners, and internal customers to deliver these initiatives. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish, with the goal of making international and domestic SpaceX offices efficient and impactful, ultimately leading to making life multiplanetary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering or construction management
  • 1+ years of professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or facilities management

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of commercial office fit-out experience, including international projects
  • Experience managing projects in multiple countries or regions
  • 2+ years of professional experience with facility design software and tools (e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Navisworks)
  • 1+ years of professional experience in strategic facilities planning
  • 1+ years of professional experience with construction cost estimates
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations; ability to mark up and highlight coordination items
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
  • Ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and cost

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and own the full lifecycle of global office construction projects with on-time and under-budget delivery and high customer satisfaction
  • Manage all aspects of multi-discipline construction projects in the field and office
  • Be the overall construction project manager and extreme owner for global office initiatives
  • Perform project control tasks, including project scheduling and cost control
  • Interact with contractors, fabricators, architects, real estate team, and internal customers
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time, adapting to diverse international regulations and environments
  • Provide budgetary costs based upon the preliminary scope of the project
  • Gather proposals from architects, engineers and contractors; assign contracts upon receipt of all proposals
  • Facilitate city, county, and international governmental approvals and permitting
  • Coordinate project implementation and track project status across multiple sites, and ensure seamless handoffs to local teams post-occupancy
  • Coordinate with end users, facilities teams, and operations for building turnover, maintenance planning, and ongoing support
  • Take on new projects ad-hoc as business needs dictate
