About The Position

The Construction Project Director, Mission Critical within CRB is a senior leadership role responsible for both: Delivery Oversight: Leading the execution of large-scale, mission-critical data center programs on behalf of clients. Business Development: Driving growth by securing new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and positioning CRB as a preferred EPCM partner. This role acts as a trusted advisor to clients, overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction activities while also contributing to revenue generation, market expansion, and strategic pursuits. This role may require travel up to 60%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in construction/project/program management
  • Significant experience in EPCM, consultancy, or owner’s representative roles
  • Proven delivery of large-scale data center or mission-critical infrastructure programs
  • Program and project management leadership
  • Client-facing advisory experience
  • Deep knowledge of EPCM delivery models and contract structures
  • Strong commercial, financial, and risk management expertise
  • Advanced understanding of data center infrastructure systems (MEP-heavy)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary client interface and trusted advisor for project and program delivery.
  • Lead strategic discussions on delivery models, phasing, risk tolerance, and operational constraints.
  • Translate client business objectives into actionable program and project execution strategies.
  • Provide executive-level reporting, decision support, and recommendations to client leadership.
  • Provide governance across multiple data center projects or campuses within a program.
  • Establish and enforce project execution plans, standards, and controls frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities across all stakeholders.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for schedule, cost, quality, and commercial issues.
  • Oversee integration of: Engineering design development, Procurement strategies and long-lead equipment management, Construction execution delivered by general contractors.
  • Validate contractor schedules, cost plans, and execution strategies against client objectives.
  • Lead constructability reviews, phasing strategies, and site logistics planning.
  • Ensure alignment of civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and commissioning scopes into a cohesive delivery plan.
  • Oversee and manage general contractors, trade partners, and consultants on behalf of the client.
  • Lead RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive accountability for contract performance, deliverables, and compliance.
  • Manage Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed (OFCI) equipment coordination where applicable.
  • Provide independent oversight of cost, schedule, and risk performance.
  • Lead development and validation of: Budgets and forecasts, Cash flow and cost tracking, Schedule baselines and milestones.
  • Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives without compromising safety and system reliability.
  • Ensure alignment with contractual milestones and turnover requirements.
  • Provide high-level oversight of data center MEP systems, including: Electrical infrastructure (UPS, generators, substations), Cooling systems and redundancy strategies, Network and IT infrastructure interfaces.
  • Ensure designs meet uptime, resiliency (N+1/2N), and scalability requirements.
  • Oversee commissioning readiness, testing, and operational handover.
  • Lead identification and mitigation of program-level risks, including supply chain and permitting challenges.
  • Ensure contractors adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Promote zero-incident safety culture and compliance assurance across all contractors.
  • Lead and mentor project managers, cost managers, and technical specialists within the EPCM team.
  • Oversee staffing models aligned to program complexity and delivery scale.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration across dispersed teams.
  • Define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks for program performance.
  • Deliver monthly and executive-level reports on cost, schedule, risk, and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and standards.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, hyperscalers, developers, and investors.
  • Act as a client account leader for strategic accounts within the data center sector.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, program expansion, and new geographic markets.
  • Lead or support business development efforts, including: RFP/RFQ responses, Proposal development and positioning strategies, Client presentations and interviews.
  • Define win strategies and differentiate EPCM services for mission-critical projects.
  • Collaborate with internal BD teams to convert opportunities into awarded work.
  • Support development of data center market growth strategies.
  • Monitor trends such as: Hyperscale expansion, Power/energy constraints, Modular and prefabrication approaches.
  • Represent CRB in industry events, client meetings, and networking forums.
  • Build brand recognition within CRB as a leader in data center EPCM delivery.
  • Contribute to sales targets, revenue growth, and backlog development.
  • Support forecasting of pipeline opportunities and market demand.
  • Align delivery excellence with business growth and client retention.
