Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience.
  • 10-15 years of combined experience in nuclear regulatory compliance, including 10 CFR regulations and guidance and NRC reactor inspections for operating and/or construction projects.
  • Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Develop procedures for regulatory oversight to support the Kemmerer Unit 1 project and other Natrium units.
  • Provide inspection oversight of the construction of Natrium unit(s), leveraging in-depth knowledge of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations and inspection procedures.
  • Review USO and TerraPower quality assurance programs to ensure they continue to meet all applicable requirements and commitments.
  • Conduct oversight of suppliers to ensure readiness for NRC inspections.
  • Independently identify issues of concern, proactively communicate with other team members across the organization, as well as management within the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization, and recommend regulatory paths to resolve the issues of concern.
  • Serve as the lead scheduler for oversight and inspection activities conducted by the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization.
  • Track and analyze trends, recommending necessary actions to Regulatory Construction Oversight management.
