About The Position

Atmos Energy is hiring for a construction operations role in Plainview, Texas. The position performs basic, routine work using prescribed procedures and seeks guidance when work deviates from the norm. It assists with installing and maintaining natural gas lines, meters, and regulators, and may help conduct leakage surveys. The role also requires accurate records and reports to meet company and regulatory requirements. The position supports safe operations by identifying and reporting safety and encroachment issues, safely operating and inspecting assigned company vehicles and equipment, following company values and policies, and completing required safety training. It may require standby duty, shift work, holidays, weekends, emergency callouts, extended hours, reporting outside the regular work area, and overnight travel. A residence requirement may apply because of callout response times. Work is outdoors in all types of weather and may involve extreme temperatures, high noise, rough terrain, ladders, roofs, attics, work under houses, and confined spaces. The role involves individual and team work and has substantial lifting, carrying, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching demands. Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or general educational knowledge normally acquired through one.
Valid driver's license in accordance with company standards.
Ability to use the company's internet/intranet resources for data entry, reference, and retrieval tasks.
Ability to communicate with internal and external customers to obtain or provide basic factual information.
Ability to lift 88 pounds from the ground to 38 inches.
Ability to carry 88 pounds a distance of 5 feet.
Ability to generate 100 foot-pounds of pulling force at a contact point of 25 inches.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
Acute sense of sight and hearing, corrected or uncorrected, and a strong sense of smell.
Must obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications and classroom training or certifications.
Must complete required safety training.
Subject to pre- and post-employment screenings, including DOT/PHMSA drug testing and motor vehicle record background checks.

Responsibilities

Perform basic, routine work using clearly prescribed procedures and seek advice or guidance for deviations from the norm.

May assist in conducting leakage surveys.
Complete and maintain accurate records and reports to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
Identify, address, and report safety and encroachment issues through resolution and completion.
Safely operate and inspect assigned company vehicles and equipment.

Become familiar with the Safety Manual, help maintain a safe working environment, and complete required safety training.
Complete assigned classes, Operator Qualifications, and on-the-job training for the Construction Learning Path.
Obtain and maintain required position Operator Qualifications, classroom training, and other required certifications.
