About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Construction Observer to join our Alpharetta Georgia (GA) office! This is not a remote position. The role involves providing construction-related services for civil engineering projects throughout the design, bidding, and construction phases. Responsibilities span from constructability reviews and scheduling during the design phase to bid coordination and contractor selection during the bidding phase, and finally to construction inspection, progress meetings, and project closeout during the construction phase.

Requirements

  • 10+ years Construction Management experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
  • Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
  • Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide construction related services for civil engineering projects during design, bidding and construction phases
  • Constructability reviews, design scheduling, contract time determination scheduling, franchise utility coordination, opinions of probable construction cost, specification and bid package development (including competitive sealed proposal method), and construction phasing
  • Bid scheduling and coordination, advertising projects, coordinating and running pre-bid meetings, addendum coordination and distribution, bid tabulations, contractor reference checks, and recommendations of contract
  • Construction scheduling and contractor schedule review, progress meetings, submittal review, construction inspection and observation, pay application review, change orders, time impact analysis, project closeout, and project documentation.
