About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Construction Observer to join our Fort Myers, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position. The role involves providing construction-related services for civil engineering projects during the design, bidding, and construction phases. Responsibilities span constructability reviews, design scheduling, contract time determination, franchise utility coordination, cost estimations, specification and bid package development, and construction phasing during the design phase. During the bidding phase, duties include bid scheduling and coordination, project advertising, pre-bid meeting coordination, addendum management, bid tabulations, contractor reference checks, and contract recommendations. In the construction phase, responsibilities include construction scheduling and contractor schedule review, progress meetings, submittal review, construction inspection and observation, pay application review, change order management, time impact analysis, project closeout, and project documentation.

Requirements

10+ years Construction Management experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
