As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you’ll serve as a trusted professional conducting special inspections, material testing, and site observations across a range of project types and scales helping contribute to projects of significant scale and complexity while supporting the people around you.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • 2+ years’ preferred experience performing multi-discipline special inspections & tests
  • Knowledge of local building codes
  • Ability to achieve ICC certification within 2 years of hire, if not held at hire
  • Ability to achieve ACI Field Concrete Testing Technician Level I certification within 1 year of hire, if not held at hire
  • Nuclear Safety Training
  • Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft programs and MetaField software

Responsibilities

  • Perform site observations of earthwork, utility backfill, excavations, and foundation construction in addition to construction material testing and special inspections
  • Collect samples and perform tests to monitor compliance with construction specifications
  • Travel to job sites using company vehicles and interact with Design Team, Building Officials, Contractors, and Clients
  • Document inspections and testing activities electronically through an online database including testing logs, work items, and picture records
  • Coordinate with Project Managers providing constant communication when on site
  • Clean and maintain equipment and vehicles in proper working order
  • Perform other tasks directed by supervisor not specifically mentioned
  • Properly perform testing in accordance with applicable standards
  • Perform work effectively and efficiently while maintaining a safe working environment
  • Submit daily field reports
  • Communicate daily with supervisor on projects and issues
  • Communicate as needed with client and designated construction team members regarding project work
