About The Position

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for an experienced Construction Materials Testing Technician III to join their Salt Lake City, UT office. This role involves performing construction observation and materials testing on various projects to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications. Requirements

• 3 year minimum of construction materials testing or inspection experience.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 certification.
• Radiation Safety training for the operation of a nuclear density gauge.
• Soils certification in one of the following: ACI aggregate soils, Nicet Soils, or ICC Soils Certs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Able to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• A good work ethic and high level of personal integrity.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• ICC Special Inspector Certifications (Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural Welding).
• Nicet Soils or Concrete Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and materials testing on various projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
• Follow proper procedures.
• Complete work in a timely manner.
• Prepare daily field observation reports and materials testing data sheets.
• Perform accurate computations.
• Maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
• Help in laboratory testing of materials.
• Train technicians and help grow the Houston Office.
• Lead other junior technicians on long-term projects.
