About The Position

Lab Technicians play a critical role in the success of commercial construction projects by completing rigorous quality assurance testing of construction materials. Lab Technicians are responsible for receiving samples in the lab and keeping detailed records of the projects, tests, and results.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools like Outlook, Teams, and Word.
  • Ability to learn new software programs to receive work orders, submit reports, and review policies and procedures.
  • High ethical standards and effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification

Nice To Haves

  • College preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing various soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry tests including resistivity, concrete strength, soil permeability, sieve analysis, steel tensile strength, density and compaction, and many more.
  • Calibrating lab equipment and maintaining thorough and accurate records.
  • Completing detailed and accurate reports of test results.
  • Working independently, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and escalating to management appropriately.
  • Occasionally driving between offices to deliver or pick up samples and equipment.
  • Maintaining standards and helping to prepare for lab accreditation.
  • Following and upholding all health, safety, and compliance protocols.
  • Communicating professionally with client representatives while receiving test samples.
  • Performing other duties or functions as assigned or requested.
