About The Position

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Fort Worth team and advance in a dynamic work environment. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks. Responsibilities include conducting observation, testing, and sampling of materials such as soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites. You will execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers. This role involves conducting routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance. You will perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results, and may assist with calculations, drafting, and other administrative duties. Daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers is essential, as is communicating changing site conditions and additional requested testing to your supervisor. You will also attend project meetings as requested and assist with the organization of field equipment, notifying your supervisor of any broken or missing equipment. You will receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing, and document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices. As your experience grows, ECS will support you in enhancing your professional skills and encourage participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities.

Requirements

  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
  • Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
  • US Military E-4 rank (if also meeting education and license requirements).
