About The Position

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a dependable and motivated Construction Materials Field Technician to join our Geotechnical Engineering team. This position is responsible for performing field testing, sampling, inspection, and documentation of construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable building codes. The Construction Materials Field Technician works on a variety of commercial, residential, transportation, and infrastructure projects. Successful candidates enjoy working outdoors, have strong attention to detail, and are committed to safety, quality, and exceptional client service.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Arizona driver's license and acceptable driving record.
3 + years of experience sampling/testing soils and ABC from job sites and roadways.
Good written and verbal skills.
City of Phoenix certified tester or ability to secure certifications within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of soil mechanics and sampling of concrete and asphalt.

Nice To Haves

All field level certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, and ATTI field).

Responsibilities

Oversee full Post Tension Inspections i.e., pad and trench certification, pre-slab, concrete sampling, stressing, epoxy, and grade verification.
Ability to perform all ATTI certified tests in the field.
Communicate directly with clients and potential clients regarding project needs.
Manage Personal field equipment.
Strictly adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines.
Adhere to Alta Southwest company policies.
Ability to complete in house training.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be needed of available.
