Certerra Southern Engineering has an immediate opening for a full-time entry level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina. The position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, does not mind some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team. Certerra Southern Engineering is a consulting firm focused on building a highly skilled, collaborative team to provide innovative geotechnical, construction materials testing and environmental engineering services. Requirements
- 0-2 years of construction materials testing experience
- A strong safety focus and attention to detail
- Excellent plan reading skills
- A demonstrated math and technical aptitude
- Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving history
Nice To Haves
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification (preferred)
- ICC certifications (preferred)
- NCDOT certifications (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
- Maintaining required certifications (ACI, ICC, NCDOT)
- Coordinating with clients and Project Managers.
- Travel to client facilities as needed
- Report writing and computer skills
- Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
- Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
- Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
- Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
- Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
- Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
