About The Position

ERM is hiring a Construction Manager (Early Works Project Manager) to support a key technology client in Reno, Nevada. This role will oversee the planning, compliance, and execution of early works construction activities for large-scale data center developments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in large-scale construction management, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. The position is onsite and will be critical in managing field delivery for complex civil and infrastructure scopes. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), limited-term role with a 12-month duration, with a possible 6-month renewal.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of construction management experience or equivalent expertise.
7+ years managing complex capital projects and programs.
Strong experience in “extreme” mass grading and large-scale civil construction (projects no less than 4 million cubic yards of soil) for 10 years.
Experience with mission-critical facilities or large-scale projects.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Bluebeam (P6 preferred).
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and manage cross-functional teams and relationships.

Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential
Experience with cold shell or large distribution center construction
Experience with subgrade infrastructure and utility coordination
Experience with seismic construction environments
Track record of driving innovative solutions and overcoming project barriers

Responsibilities

Provide on-site construction management for early works scopes including mass grading, utilities, roads, demolition, and remediation.
Direct and coordinate daily field activities to ensure safe, timely, and quality delivery.
Serve as single point of contact for early works construction and communicate project status.
Manage scope, schedule, and budget including KPI and cost tracking.
Coordinate contractors, vendors, and stakeholders for aligned execution.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental programs.
Support agency coordination, stakeholder engagement, and community interactions.
Identify and mitigate project risks and develop reporting tools.
Manage vendor performance and ensure contract compliance.
Drive continuous improvement and problem solving across project phases.
