About The Position

The Construction Manager will be responsible for guiding assigned new home construction projects from design, development, permitting, and pre-construction through active construction, homebuyer closing, and warranty. This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership role. The Construction Manager will oversee daily construction activity, manage trade partners, maintain schedules, control costs, coordinate inspections, communicate with the team, and help ensure each home is completed with quality, efficiency, and attention to detail. This position reports to the President and will work closely with the company’s administrative team, trade partners, vendors, cities, inspectors, engineers, customers, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned homes from pre-construction through completion.
  • Manage assigned homes from start to finish.
  • Coordinate daily field activity and jobsite progress.
  • Ensure homes are built according to plans, specifications, quality standards, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues quickly and professionally.
  • Proactively address delays, conflicts, quality concerns, and cost issues.
  • Keep projects moving in the proper sequence and at the expected quality level.
  • Update BuilderTrend daily.
  • Enter daily logs in BuilderTrend.
  • Maintain accurate construction schedules in BuilderTrend.
  • Document job progress, issues, trade partner activity, schedule changes, and important project details.
  • Use BuilderTrend consistently to support clear communication and project tracking.
  • Adhere to construction budgets.
  • Monitor field activity for potential cost overruns.
  • Identify, communicate, and help resolve variances.
  • Work with trade partners and vendors to address pricing, scope, or quality concerns.
  • Support company efforts to improve efficiency and protect profitability.
  • Coordinate and supervise trade partner work.
  • Hold trade partners accountable for quality, schedule, safety, communication, and professionalism.
  • Resolve trade partner conflicts when they arise.
  • Communicate expectations clearly and consistently.
  • Identify performance issues and work toward timely resolution.
  • Help find, qualify, and onboard new trade partners as necessary.
  • Schedule and coordinate city inspections.
  • Schedule and coordinate third-party engineering inspections.
  • Ensure homes are ready for required inspections.
  • Follow up on inspection results and corrections.
  • Maintain proper documentation related to inspections and approvals.
  • Conduct new home orientation walks with homebuyers.
  • Explain key home features and systems clearly.
  • Document customer questions, concerns, and outstanding items.
  • Ensure agreed-upon items are completed prior to closing.
  • Manage warranty items after closing.
  • Coordinate with trade partners to complete warranty work.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the process.
  • Communicate regularly with the President and the administrative team.
  • Provide timely updates on job progress, delays, inspections, trade partner concerns, budget issues, and customer matters.
  • Keep internal team members informed so they can properly support permitting, scheduling, website updates, customer communication, payments, and documentation.
  • Maintain professional communication with cities, engineers, inspectors, trade partners, vendors, customers, and homeowners.
  • Help improve company processes as the business grows.
  • Support company goals related to quality, schedule, customer satisfaction, cost control, and trade partner performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
