About The Position

Planate Management Group (PMG) is seeking experienced Construction Managers (CM) to support the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades at Bay Pines VAMC. This initiative focuses on modernizing healthcare infrastructure related to the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) system. The role involves providing full-time, on-site construction oversight during General Contractor operations. The position is initially for one year with four option years.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Architectural, Engineering, Construction Technology, or Construction Management college curriculum with a four (4) year degree minimum and a minimum of 3 years of relevant construction management experience.
  • Alternatively, Construction Administration Professionals lacking a college curriculum may substitute education with an additional 3 years of relevant construction management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction practices and techniques, including proper applications of construction materials and methods of installation.
  • OSHA 30 (or greater) certification within the last 5 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hospital Information Technology/Low Voltage Infrastructure construction or maintenance.
  • Specific experience with Electronic Health Records Management Systems.
  • Experience with design and construction of healthcare infrastructure (heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, emergency power, and special systems).
  • Experience in VA Hospitals.
  • Experience with campus site infrastructure, including utilities, roadways, and parking.
  • Experience working in the state of Florida and demonstrated understanding of Florida specific considerations.
  • Experience with infection control during construction within active hospital settings.
  • Experience with project phasing to maintain hospital operations during construction.
  • Experience with commissioning hospital infrastructure systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFP, Florida Building Code, NEC).
  • Familiarity with VA Design Guides/Manuals, Specifications, and other applicable standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide construction management services including coordination of submittal reviews and management of the submittal process, maintaining a submittal register.
  • Review submittals on behalf of the VHA to ensure proposed materials and methods comply with project specifications, VA standards and codes, and VA Medical Center requirements.
  • Document, track, monitor, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and their responses.
  • Review and monitor project schedules, focusing on milestone completion dates, phasing requirements, workflow, material deliveries, and test dates.
  • Provide field verification of as-built drawings and updates. Perform construction inspections, identify non-conforming work, notify the COR of work requiring correction, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Compile lists of defects and omissions from site inspections and provide them to the COR for determination of necessary corrections.
  • Deliverables include observation reports, lists of defects and omissions, modification narratives, sketches, and drawings as required.
