The Construction Manager will lead a dedicated construction organization, ensuring project and maintenance activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the appropriate quality standards. This role involves daily interaction with supervisors for direction and feedback, and requires providing concise and accurate presentations on construction status, including complex technical, organizational, and financial issues. The manager will conduct complex problem analysis, develop innovative alternative action strategies to achieve milestones, perform risk analyses, and make decisions on corrective actions and priorities. A key responsibility is optimizing construction efficiency by providing input throughout all project phases, from conceptual design to completion. The position also entails managing established costs, schedule, and technical baselines, effectively leading project staff and matrix personnel, and fostering career development and performance reviews. The manager will promote a "team concept" when collaborating with Operations, the Department of Energy, and other departments, attending meetings, reporting on construction activities, and resolving complex problems. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to safety rules, obtaining necessary training, and the authority to stop work if unsafe conditions arise.
