About The Position

We are looking for a Construction Manager to lead and oversee the assigned local field technicians through assigned projects in the Construction department. The project cycle includes planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short/long-term refrigeration installation projects that have a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables. The Construction Manager will focus on leading key performance objectives like quality, safety, training, financial results, effective scheduling, and management to provide outstanding services to our customers.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) + years in a Refrigeration Project Management or Construction Management role.
  • Microsoft Office and Construction Software Experience
  • Knowledge of refrigeration installation best practices and documentation requirements.
  • Proficient in reading construction blueprints, specifications and contract documents.
  • Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Able to work with large dollar amounts and be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent with the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs and tracking documents.
  • Employee will have access to Company confidential information and must be responsible enough to protect such information.
  • Capable of communicating effectively and expeditiously while maintaining professional conduct with all levels of the organization as well as third parties.
  • Knowledge of DX and CO2 refrigeration, project management, workplace safety, contractor/vendor management, customer relations, and bid development.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Computer Skills – strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Email) and other system applications currently being used (Maxwell, etc.).
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations
  • Adhere to Hillphoenix safety program, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and manage local Project Managers/Techs in the Construction department to support the project’s success.
  • Provide administration and business support to Foreman, Apprentice, Journeyman, EMS Team, and other assigned staff to ensure compliance with established quality standards and completeness of work performed.
  • Help the estimation team and management team in bidding jobs and job walks.
  • Work closely with Program Managers and Project Managers on the successful determination and execution of project SOW.
  • Visit projects for quality review, team support, progress tracking, and documentation per customer and internal requirements.
  • Work in the field as a Project Manager on assigned local projects and understand the entire scope of the project.
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities per project with the foreman, project manager, and project coordinators.
  • Prepare and implement a communication plan that meets the client reporting requirements and keeps all personnel involved in the project informed.
  • Manage all communication amongst the team to foster an open environment of positive communication and teamwork to proactively solve issues and successfully execute the project scope.
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project and develop and manage a cost budget to meet the estimated margin.
  • Determine the client's objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
  • Prequalify and hire subcontract trades and personnel to execute the project.
  • Travel to jobs sites for job visits and documenting reports for customers and internal office team.
  • Partner with HR team for adding resources as needed.
  • Complete all the managerial tasks assigned by Dover for the team along with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
