About The Position

ELITS Canada Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager for its operations in Mississauga. This role is accountable for all Civil Works and associated financial control via scheduling, SP/ASP, and Quality Management on a given project. The Construction Manager will ensure that all Service Providers adhere to required standards, processes, and procedures, as well as all Federal and Local regulations, and will identify continuous improvement opportunities. The role involves managing external interfaces with ASP/SP and Customer PM, and internal interfaces with IM Lead, Project Admin, Project Sponsor, and CPM.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience.
  • Job-related experience with project builds over 200 sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and control charges to the agreed site design.
  • Assure that only the customer’s approved materials are installed on the project.
  • Assure that the agreed Civil Works guidelines and schedules are followed and enforced.
  • Attend coordination and progress meetings.
  • Maintain awareness and provide on-site supervision where risk of disturbances in customer site performance is high.
  • Ensure the working environment is maintained at an acceptable level; carry out safety inspections and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Perform Civil Works problem-solving as required during the project.
  • Coordinate site activities and ensure all disciplines involved in the project are aligned with project goals and objectives.
  • Drive schedule activities and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure that Service Providers and vendors/suppliers meet all technical specifications required by the customer.
  • Ensure that workmanship quality of installations meets contractual standards and customer expectations.
  • Ensure that all Federal, Local, and customer safety guidelines and construction procedures are enforced throughout the Civil Works phase.
  • Maintain knowledge of worker safety and work environment safety.
  • Perform site pre-inspections and coordinate post-construction audits.
  • Perform site verification.
  • Perform visual inspection of on-site quality.
  • Prepare regular progress reports as required by the project.
  • Provide accurate status updates to project management.
  • Provide technical assistance to Service Providers and other suppliers involved in Civil Works activities.
  • Reject incorrect material deliveries to site.
  • Report poor performance and quality issues on site.
  • Ensure proper interpretation and compliance with civil design plans.
  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor work performed by Service Providers and other disciplines interfacing with Civil Works.
  • Provide team leadership with a focus on quality and results.
  • Write claims, order materials and manage returns.
  • Maintain and update construction-specific areas of Site Handler, including but not limited to: SOW and pre-construction documents (NTP, SOW, RFDS, safety guidance, QA standards, etc.), NTP receipt verification, RFDS submission review and changes, Civils acceptance documents: submission receipt, review and approval, Civils progress PFA verification (daily), Close-out document review and acceptance sign-off.
