S&B is currently seeking a Construction Manager to provide overall management direction for field construction projects. This role may, on occasion, place the individual in the overall responsible position of a project, in which case the additional duties of the Project Manager will also apply. Requirements

Four-year degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Construction Manager role.
Ability to effectively manage projects that range in varying size and complexity.
Ability to manage projects with a direct hire scope of 2MM – 3.5MM manhours.
Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
Sound knowledge of cost and schedule adherence.
Skills to employ tact, diplomacy and influence.
Understanding and ability to manage the inter-working relationships between various craft trades including sub-contractors.
Ability to anticipate and implement corrective actions to limit potential labor-related disputes.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, including participation in virtual meetings, collaboration through chat and channels, document sharing, and coordination with distributed project teams.
Ability to effectively use digital tools to support project coordination, reporting, scheduling updates, and communication across engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams.
Comfort working in a technology-enabled construction environment, including use of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to access drawings, schedules, procedures, and project data.
Willingness to adapt to evolving company systems, software platforms, and digital workflows as project and business needs change.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering design drawings, technical procedures and specifications, government regulations, business correspondence and manuals.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
Ability to communicate directions effectively verbally to craft supervisors and respond to questions from clients, managers, and fellow workers.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

Provide overall management direction for field construction projects.
Supervise Project Superintendents, Craft Superintendent, General Foreman, and Foreman positions.
Report to the assigned AOM, VP of Field Operations, and Sr. VP of EPC and Construction.
Make decisions and recommendations that can greatly impact corporate relationships with clients and project profitability.
Plan, organize and staff key field positions through department heads.
Implement, manage and provide safety leadership to ensure zero injury safety results.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and engineers to facilitate construction activities.
Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious delay situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent the Company in project meetings, assist in any labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the Company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the client.
